Over a decade ago, I was trying to build a private practice in Boulder, Colorado, one of the most competitive regions in the country. I quickly realized after only having a handful of clients for way too long, that if I didn't do something different I was going to have to return to my previous underpaid organizational position. The organizational work was great for me at one point in time, but my heart was in private practice where I could do what I love, make the money I desired, make my own schedule, and work with the people I wanted to. After a lot of trial and error, getting the right mentorship, and studying endlessly about small business marketing, I broke through and created a six-figure private practice and never looked back since. After many years of serving my clients, I realized I wanted to give back my knowledge that I learned to help as many therapists as I could succeed in private practice. That's when I founded Higher Practice with my wife, Emma Teitel, with the mission to empower therapists to attain their vision in private practice.
