About Keith Mantel

Keith has spent the last six years living and working in DC real estate. In 2020 and 2021, his team has won the "Top Team" award for the brokerage with over $50mil in sales transactions per year. Before getting into real estate, he spent most of the previous 15 years living and working abroad in post-conflict and underdeveloped regions of the world. He lived in Israel for two years where he served in the Israeli Defense forces and deployed to the West Bank. He graduated from the University of Maryland, with a BA in Government and International Development. Seeking opportunities in the foreign policy sphere, he joined US Army Intelligence and served for six years including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. While in the military Keith completed his MBA and also acquired skills in GIS, management, and data collection and analysis. Frustrated with the military’s function in nation-building, he decided to apply his skills elsewhere in global development. Focusing on citizen access to land data, he traveled to Myanmar, conducting research on land tenure disputes. He discovered that land also played a significant role in the stagnation of poverty reduction and political development. Keith completed his Master’s of Science with the Technical University of Munich, on research conducted on the ground in Jamaica in partnership with the Jamaican government and presented those findings at the recent World Bank conference. After completing his thesis, Keith began a start-up called "itabo" that attempted to bring a Zillow-type platform to the Caribbean and LatAm countries. He realized that he needed more knowledge in the realtor/broker space so he chose to gain practical experience in Real Estate from the private sector side and join one of the largest real estate investor companies in Florida. He is now back in his hometown of Washington, DC working in both Residential and Commercial Real Estate. He also works part-time consulting on land information software implementation with IGOs like the World Bank and IDB, and has worked in Tanzania in East Africa and Trinidad in the Caribbean.
