I am currently the Senior Laboratory Supervisor of the Analytical Services Laboratory of Leo Pharma. The Analytical Services Laboratory is responsible for the introduction of new analytical methods, method validation, process validation, environmental testing, cleaning validation, finished good testing and certification. My current position requires the supervision of a highly-skilled, diverse team with a strong focus on compliance, KPI’s, deadline management and timeliness. In my position, I have gained an abundance of experience in authoring new analytical methods, method validation and transfer reports and assisting in the process of submission of NDA’s to new markets. As the Senior Supervisor of the department, I also deputise for the Laboratory Manager resulting in my taking all quality related decisions for five different laboratories and approximately fifty employees. Prior to my current role, I was the Packaging Laboratory Supervisor which involved the review, release and rejection of all incoming packaging materials. In a fast-paced environment, a hands-on approach was required to facilitate the incoming inspection of primary and secondary packaging for the business site. Communication with team members and liaising with the production and planning departments was essential for the timely approval of packaging components to ensure deadlines were met without incurring downtime in finished goods manufacturing. I began my career in the pharmaceutical industry as a laboratory technician in the Analytical Services department of Leo Pharma. I have a First Class Honours degree in Pharmaceutical Science and also a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry.
