About Kellan Higgins

Kellan has joined the team at Unifiller Systems to do software development. Kellan is also the Founder of 8Bit Goose Games, Inc, a Indie video game company located in Vancouver. 8Bit Goose is the company behind a 5-Star Unity Asset, Building Crafter. Kellan is very dedicated to optimization, often spending days to cut a gaming method from 10ms to 1ms. As an example, a rope system that Kellan rewrote went from ropes with 30 links taking about 1ms to process to a rope with 300 links taking less than a 10th of a ms to process. Kellan's programming experience includes Unity, C#, Entity Component Systems, the Unity Burst compiler, Autodesk's FBX format, SQL, Blender and a basic understanding of C++. Kellan is a very motivated self directed learner, teaching himself these skills over the past decade. Previously, Kellan worked at SilkStart as an Operations Manager (which builds membership management software), The Ubyssey (the official student newspaper at UBC) as the Editor-In-Chief equivalent role and continues to do photography as a side business. Kellan has a sailboat which he likes to tinker with in his off time.
