About Kellan Shields

As an Emergency Programs Officer at GlobalMedic, I am passionate about delivering humanitarian aid to communities affected by natural disasters and conflicts. I am responsible for researching and procuring goods and services, planning and coordinating volunteer events, drafting and editing proposals and reports, arranging logistics relating to the aid delivery, donor relations, social media outreach, and deploying to disaster zones as a member of our Rapid Response Team. I have a Bachelor's degree in Development Economics and International Development from Humber College School of Business, where I gained a solid foundation in economic theory, policy analysis, and international development issues. I have strong and honed office administration skills, specializing in data entry and analysis, training administration, customer service, and intercultural communication. I also have a keen interest in human rights and environmental sustainability, which has motivated me in pursuing a career in the humanitarian sector.
