About Kelli Holtsclaw

I’m an education professional with over nine years of classroom teaching experience. Growing up, I had a constant passion for learning, so it was no surprise when I followed my dream of becoming a teacher to share that love of learning with others. My wish to make a significant difference in the lives of ALL students and provide them with a quality education in which they feel empowered and encouraged is what led to my K-12 certification. My experience in urban education has taught me to view the world around me from a different perspective. For this, I am grateful. I have developed a greater sense of empathy, flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor. I understand the value of relationships formed with students; they are essential to supporting their academic, emotional, and social development as well as a love of learning. I truly believe “they don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Knowledge of the common core state standards and my desire to create lessons and units that were appealing and relevant to my students led to a Master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum. My goal is to write curriculum for students and teachers that makes learning as engaging and productive as possible. My dedication to teaching and supporting students led to several accomplishments and contributions including highly effective and effective evaluation ratings; mentor teacher; grade level lead teacher; Positive Behavioral and Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team; Principal’s Advisory Council; ACT preparation; and before/after school tutoring sessions. I believe that my enthusiasm and passion for education is evident to everyone I encounter. I am committed to growing individually as well as professionally within the educational field and using my knowledge and skills to make a difference in the lives of others – inside or outside of a classroom.
