About Kelli Shaeffer

I’m driven by translating the architectural and interior design intent through impactful, thoughtful lighting design solutions that keep client’s budget and design criteria in mind. Prior to obtaining my position as a Lighting Designer with Power Design Engineering, LLC, I worked as an Interior Design Intern while finishing my Interior Design/Building Construction Management degree at Purdue University. My interior design degree and background has helped me work hand in hand with the Architect and Interior Designer to create a seamless design process from start to finish. At Power Design Engineering, LLC, I’m an Senior Lighting Designer, designing and managing large scale lighting design projects focused in high rise/high density multi-family and high-end hospitality projects. Right out of Purdue University, I moved down to St. Petersburg, FL with the exciting opportunity to be a founding member of the Lighting Design Studio within the Power Design Engineering, LLC department. Since joining as an Associate Lighting Designer in June of 2016, I have hit the ground running learning codes, developing design processes, developing my project management skills, and how to achieve the optimal lighting design solution for the projects I have had the pleasure of working on thus far in my career. My role is to provide the basis of design for the architectural lighting and controls intent, lighting specification and documentation while also paying close attention to the customer's budget and timeline. During the design process, I consult with the architectural/ID/LA design team's every step of the way to ensure we are meeting their design aesthetic and function while also making sure we are meeting code compliance, programming requirements that has been set forth by the client. My specialties include quickly learning new skills, mastering them and then applying them during my design and project management process. I’m enthusiastically grabbing onto any new area that I can learn and expand my knowledge in the design and construction industry.
