About Kelli Warren

I'm a vegetation and wetlands ecologist working in western Canada and reside in Alberta. I have over 17 years of experience as a vegetation and wetlands ecologist. I'm skilled in ecological land classification (ELC) in Alberta and Saskatchewan, terrestrial ecosystem mapping (TEM) in BC and NWT, rare plant/species at risk (SAR) surveys, wetland delineation, classification and health/function surveys, and invasive plant and weed surveys. I've spent many years working in the boreal forest, prairies of southern Alberta, national parks, and alpine environments in Alberta and BC. The last several years, I've worked specifically in BC and lead several larger projects in the Rocky Mountains. I'm skilled at TEM, ELC and wetland mapping, and use three-dimensional (3D) mapping software regularly for vegetation and wetlands mapping. I've also worked in a variety of market sectors including (but not limited to): mining, oil sands, conventional oil and gas, power, renewable projects, pipelines and municipal projects. I'm experienced in leading many projects related to vegetation and wetlands and currently lead several large projects in BC and Alberta. My principal role involves business development, client liaison, preparing budgets, managing field staff and general discipline specific project management. I also have been the lead vegetation and wetlands author for several reports and applications, including Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessments (ESAs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), Detailed Impact Assessments (DIA) for Parks Canada and other vegetation specific reporting. I'm an Authenticating Professional for wetland assessments under the Alberta Wetland Policy regulated by the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB) and have completed many projects following the Alberta Wetland Policy and affiliated directives (e.g, Alberta Wetland and Identification Directive, Alberta Wetland Assessment and Impact Report Directive). I'm experienced in wetland mapping and classification using the Alberta Wetland Classification System. I am also a Qualified Professional in BC (RPBio) regulated by the College of Applied Biology.
