About Kellie Acors

Since 2008 I have served as the Director of Elections / General Registrar to provide all eligible citizens convenient access for voter registration and their voting experiences, maintain 104,100 voter records and other election-related data accurately. I organize and oversee voter registration opportunities, recruit and train election officials, conduct locality absentee/early voting, manage new candidate qualifications with campaign finance and supervise primary, special and general election polling precincts for local, state and federal elections. I am committed to providing each citizen of our County the opportunity to exercise his or her right to vote in an efficient and equitable manner in accordance with the Constitutions of the United States and Commonwealth of Virginia and the Code of Virginia. We strive to manage effective, transparent elections while protecting the integrity of the democratic process. The Director of Elections/General Registrar position serves as a department head of the Spotsylvania County Office of Elections. As described in Code of Virginia §24.2, the position is appointed by the locality’s Electoral Board and serves for a four-year term fulfilling statutory requirements.
