About Kellie Hill

Judge Kellie Hill has served full-time on the Magistrate Court of Cobb County since 2016 and recently elected in June, 2020 to serve as one of the county’s first African American judges on the Superior Court. Prior to taking the bench, Ms. Hill was an award-winning trial attorney with over 25 years of experience. Her 22 year background as a prosecutor in both Fulton and DeKalb Counties provided her with an expertise in criminal litigation. She served as a Chief Trial Assistant District Attorney in both counties and was responsible for directly supervising and training attorneys and legal staff. Additionally, she served as the Director of Public Integrity in both counties and is well versed in officer-involved shooting cases, in-custody death investigations, public corruption cases, major homicide cases, white collar cases, cold cases and specialized in complex and high profile criminal trial litigation. Attorney Hill also practiced in civil litigation for 5 years and held a supervisory role as the managing attorney in an Atlanta-based firm. Her depth of experience in the practice of law proved useful in teaching “trial advocacy” to second and third year law students as an adjunct law professor at the John Marshall School of Law. Ms. Hill received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a concentration in International Business from the University of Pennsylvania and her Juris Doctorate from The Rutgers University School of Law.
