Background
About Kellie Mast
Please do not contact me via methods not listed on my profile) I have a bachelor's of art in communication from Truman Sate University and a master’s in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Springfield. I graduated in May 2016, and a week later began my adventures in broadcasting. I interned at STARadio in Quincy, IL in the summer of 2015. I've been producer for News/Talk LIVE, the morning show on WGEM-FM 105.1, a Quincy Media Station and the Tri-States' News Leader. I have also been a reporter, as well as local news anchor on the weekend editions of The Morning Show on Talk Radio AM 930 WTAD in Quincy, Illinois. I have been on Real92.9,"The Tri-state's #1 Hit Music Station," Saturdays from noon to 3p.m, and the host of Coyote Nights weeknights from 6 to 10p.m. on 99.5 WCOY Coyote Country. All are stations out of my hometown of Quincy, IL. After shifting to print media for about a year and a half, I returned to the world of radio and was a radio traffic and copy/continuity coordinator for 8 STARadio stations in Quincy, IL and Kankakee, IL, while also working in a music and movie store since November 2018. In 2020, I had time to myself to plan a shift in my career and started studying for a career in technology. I am proud to say in 2021, I entered into the IT world with my first corporate Service tech position for United Community Bancorp in the Quincy, Il area. I moved to work at the Data Center near Springfield, IL in the beginning of 2022 and a year later was promoted to HelpDesk Manager. The most impactful thing I've learned is how fast things move in the media and tech industries and have definitely improved my ability to adapt to change. My background and training in Multimedia Journalism, and my love for music and community are what drives me to learn more about things and keep reaching for the next branch on the tree, which just happened to be growing in a totally different direction - the IT and management direction. Ever since I was young I have been using and maintaining computer and technology systems. My mother is a computer programming teacher so there has always been information to absorb, and I took to it early on. It wasn’t until after I had try to force myself into an area of interest for a career that I had the AHA! Moment of what I was good at. If I could find something I was good at and liked, I could hone in on those skills and then work in a place that I could love. Currently my project is to continue growing in IT Management.
