Kelly Hyde, ABC, BA - Bio Kelly is an accredited business communicator with over 26 years of combined professional communications, marketing, and project management experience. She is passionate about making a difference in her community and has been a dedicated volunteer for many causes all her life. Recently she has embraced her creativity and has taken courses at the Toronto Film School for writing, joined an amazing local choir and began working as the Associate Producer for The Piano Teacher Movie. Kelly is currently working at Canada Beef as a Director for a large marketing effort and prior to that was at The City of Calgary where she held three roles including the Executive Advisor for the Chief Security Officer, a Business Strategist for Corporate Security, and a Communications Consultant for the Law Department. Before joining The City, she successfully operated her own communications consulting practice for over 10 years and her client list included: Calgary Technologies Inc, the University of Calgary, Spectra Energy, Suncor, The City of Calgary, the Town of High River, and many others. Before being an independent consultant, Kelly worked in various roles in several industries including agriculture, grocery retail, healthcare, transportation, facilities planning and operations and technology. Kelly’s strategic marketing, communication and facilitation skills bring people together to work towards a common vision and strategy. Her professional awards include The City of Calgary’s One City award in 2019 in the Corporate Impact category for the Cyber Security Awareness Campaign, that was adopted City-wide. Other professional awards include an IABC Gold Quill Merit Award, a National Canadian Public Relations Society Award, and a Canadian Marketing Association Gold Certificate Award for public relations. Kelly has an Honours Diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Communications from the University of Calgary and most recently received a graduate certificate in Values-Based Leadership from Royal Roads University. In 2009, she won the National Volunteer of the Year for Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC) and in 2016, led the Chapter that received Muscular Dystrophy Canada's Chapter of the Year for the prairie’s region. She has won several other awards from MDC since then, including the Chapter with Distinction award for her leadership. Kelly’s personal goal is to elevate others personal and professional experiences in life and lives every day to make a difference for someone else.
