About Kelsey Bennett

I have been working with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for 10+ years. I am a compassionate and driven Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) and hold a K-12 Intervention Specialist licensure as well as a 5-year Professional Principal licensure. Before becoming a BCBA, I was an intervention specialist for four years in a high school ABA/self-contained classroom and then two years in a 3-5 self-contained classroom. I strongly believe in creating a safe, loving, and non-judgmental environment for clients and their families. There is an essential balance that needs to be kept between providing compassionate care versus gaining compliance. In my experience, it is always more effective to provide love and "give in" to certain behaviors in order to live to teach another trial in the future. I am passionate about disseminating ABA methodology to families and the larger community to help individuals reach their full potential and independence. I enjoy and acknowledge the importance of collaboration between other professionals (teachers, doctors, SLP/PT/OT, etc.) for a fully integrated service approach.
