About Kelsey Hoff

As a writer and a big believer in the power of empathy, it’s my mission to draw attention to the incredible work being done by professionals who cross borders, empathize and build relationships with people who are “different.” I help experts in mental health, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), behavioral neuroscience, education and any of the “soft sciences” achieve thought leadership through written content that “listens first” to empathize and engage with real audiences. Some of my favorite clients have included a trauma therapy clinic, DEI consultants, speech-language pathologists, a “coacherapist” and an education specialist who teaches writing as an executive function process. They do their best work in the clinic, in small groups and from the stage, and I use my creative and persuasive writing skills to not only raise awareness about this work, but attract loyal “fans” who will benefit most from their services. I specialize in long-form content such as web copy, blogs, thought leadership articles, whitepapers, newsletters, lead magnets, email automations and more. We live in a time when people are more connected than ever, with more data and faster technology than we’ve ever had, and yet more and more people (56% of US adults) are living with untreated mental illness. Conflict, trauma and loneliness have become commonplace in all areas of our lives, and it disturbs me that so many people can’t afford or don’t know how to get the right help. I feel that I’m making the biggest difference when I write in spaces that are both personal and political, where integrity is mission-critical and power dynamics cannot be ignored. Because the best-performing content offers something useful and actionable, I often pair a systemic understanding of the issues at hand with practical tips and exercises.
