About Kelsey James

I’m a writer and communications professional from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications from the University of Winnipeg and a diploma in Creative Communications from Red River College, where I specialized in journalism. I’m currently a content marketing specialist at Smack Pet Food, a Winnipeg-based company that makes dehydrated raw food for cats and dogs. In this role, I’m responsible for creating content for social media posts—including photos and video—as well as writing copy for ads, web pages, and marketing emails. I also provide graphic design support and conduct interviews to inform written content. Prior to this, I was managing editor at DEL Communications Inc, community journalist at the Free Press Community Review, and communications assistant at Shared Health. When I’m not working, I can be found adventuring with my four-year-old corgi mix, Finnegan (@finneganthecowboycorgi on Instagram), listening to a podcast, doom scrolling, or binge watching Grey’s Anatomy for the 100th time.
