About Kelsey Manfred

I like to keep life interesting. Some of the things I like to do in my spare time include, learning Somali, hiking, writing, reading, and listening to podcasts. I enjoy travel—I have traveled all over the United States and took my first international trip in high school. I went to Chile and fell in love with learning about new people and new places. Since that trip, I have been to Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, South Africa, Djibouti and Kenya. I rather enjoy experiencing new places and new people. It is perpetually fascinating to learn how different people and cultures interact through communication, food and underlying value systems. These passions have impacted my life experiences in that I tend to choose non-profit work and volunteer opportunities that have direct contact with different cultures and people. I have enjoyed working with refugees and immigrants as well as youth of differing religious backgrounds. I value the space and ability to connect people of different perspectives in ways that allow them to collaborate to build up their communities. I have a knack for persuading others to get busy, join the fun and make their dreams come true. I am full of ideas and I also have the ability to make those ideas happen, if I’m convinced those ideas just might change the world into a better place for everyone.
