About Kelsy Carson

Hello! My name is Kelsy Carson and I am an artist of many sorts living in Portland, Oregon. I received my degree from Eastern Oregon University in 2015 with a major in Theatre - Performance.After graduating, I decided to move to Portland, Oregon to pursue more artistic ventures. I found myself in retail, working full-time and leaving little room for my passion for theatre. I still very much enjoyed my time working in that environment, becoming friends with my co-workers, learning about customers and what they were looking for, and managing an entire store. But something was still missing.Fast forward to 2021: I landed a job teaching theatre to children with Northwest Children's Theater! Getting that job really sparked my imagination for all the possibilities within the theater community in Portland. Over the past two summers, I have worked with NWCT and Portland Playhouse with their summer camps for children and teaching them about the world and magic of the theater.My "new-and-improved dream" career is to continue my work in education and theater, hoping to show as many people the beauty of being on (and off) stage during a production. I one day hope to own a small performance space so that any performer will have a stage and an audience.
