About Kemal Whyte

When I decided to start my own business, I knew it wouldn’t be easy- and it hasn’t been- but it has been so worth it. I’m an immigrant who moved to the States from Jamaica at 11 years old. It took a lot of hard work to get where I am, but now I’d say I’m pretty much living the immigrant’s dream. My work is driven by the things I’m passionate about, like ethno-botany, or how the human body relates to nature and the world around us. I love searching for synergy in unexpected places, and in things that are often overlooked. These passions, combined with my drive for invention, have fueled my efforts in creating businesses that help others, and always stay on the cutting edge. I think it’s these traits that have kept my first two businesses not only open, but thriving, for 9 years and 5 years, respectively. My most recent enterprise, Grassroots Harvest, is in its second year of business, and already it’s shaping up to be our most profitable year yet. Hearing feedback from customers about our products- how they’ve changed & improved their lives- is why I do what I do. There’s nothing better than knowing your work has made a difference. While I’m proud of all I’ve achieved with my businesses, I’ll be the first to say I couldn’t do this alone- success comes from collaboration, and I’m always excited to collaborate with like-minded, forward-thinking individuals.
