About Kemora Manning

My Name is Kemora Manning, and I am a first-year student at York University, where I take dance and eventually double major. My second major is, as of now, undecided, but my interest in history and sociology makes both equal contenders. Though this will undoubtedly come with a heavy course load, I am no stranger to hard work. I have impeccable time management skills harboured through my extensive volunteer work and extracurriculars. I am an active member in my church’s youth group, a youth mentor for young black girls in gymnastics with the program Girl Power’d, teach young girls to dance free of charge, and spend many hours of my week dancing and teaching at a studio for young black children. I was also active within my high school, Etobicoke School of the Arts, participating and directing in countless shows, running the Black Student’s Association, volunteering on audition day, and joining the dance company. All of which has culminated in me becoming valedictorian and winning four awards, two of which were scholarships, in my graduating year.
