About Ken Becker

Mr. Becker serves as Regional Vice President for California and Senior Principal Investigator in the Redlands, California, office of Statistical Research, Inc. In this capacity, he oversees projects in southern and central California and the Great Basin. Mr. Becker has more than 30 years of experience throughout California, the Great Basin, and the Southwest and has conducted survey, evaluation, and data recovery excavation throughout these regions. He has conducted nearly 200 cultural resource studies for local, state, and federal agencies, pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the California Environmental Quality Act. Mr. Becker has a strong interest in cultural landscape archaeology as it pertains to prehistoric trade and trails. His other research interests include lithic analysis, invertebrate faunal analysis, coastal and island archaeology, and historical archaeology. Mr. Becker meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards for Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology and also meets the Caltrans Professionally Qualified Staff standards for a PI. Mr. Becker is listed in the Register of Professional Archaeologist, is a Riverside County–certified archaeologist and is an Orange County–certified archaeologist. He is an active member of the Society for American Archaeology, Society for California Archaeology, and Society for Industrial Archaeology. He is named on permits to perform archaeological studies by a number of federal, state, and local agencies, as well as Native American tribes.
