About Ken Burgin

After 10 years as a cafe and restaurant owner in Sydney during the 90's, I created the online management business Profitable Hospitality. I merged this with hospitality finance company Silver Chef in 2016 and then focused on educational services for cafe, restaurant and foodservice operators, helping them to grow and prosper. In 2019 we presented 11 live ‘Round Table’ workshops for cafe & restaurants owners in Australia and NZ, plus trade fair presentations. In 2020-21 this pivoted to monthly Covid support webinars - enormously satisfying work, unlike anything I've done before. The webinars reached more than people in 18 months. In 2022 I joined the great team at Foodie Coaches, working on education and events. It's very satisfying to be part of a dynamic and innovative group of coaches and business specialists, supporting 100's of businesses in Australia and internationally. My current interests include hospitality automation and robotics, digital kitchen management, strategies to overcome staff shortages, customer list building, and finding the best ways to use social media (especially TikTok and Instagram) for marketing and promotion.
