About Ken Cain

An experienced and well respected professional, with 35+ years of Ontario Public Service experience in natural resource management, public lands administration, land use planning and water management. Over two decades of senior management direct experience leading legislative, regulatory and policy initiatives focused on renewable energy, public lands administration, hydroelectric development, shoreline development, water level management, dam safety, forestry and Crown land use planning. Strong issue management and conflict resolution skills and experience, with a proven track record of achieving win-win regulatory solutions between government and key sectors of Ontario’s economy. Strong commitment to pursuing the balance between economic development and environmental and community sustainability. Has led or supported public and stakeholder consultation for legislative and regulatory reform with key sectors across Ontario including environmental organizations, municipalities, conservation authorities, community and ratepayers groups, professional organizations and key industries such as forestry, resource based tourism, mining and renewable energy. Experience designing, supporting and leading community level and province wide engagement with Indigenous communities and organizations.
