About Ken Fetterhoff

I have experience in project management, systems engineering, laser and optical systems engineering and development for commercial and military applications, and project management. Products that I've designed and/or contributed significantly to the design of include custom laser systems (including design of lasers, optics, and opto-mechanics, systems interface, integration onto multiple platforms) for missile applications, laser eye surgery systems, design of custom spectroscopic systems for industrial applications, design of opto-mechanical assemblies for a space based system. I'm an experienced project manager (under the title of Integrated Product Team Lead IPTL, Responsible Engineering Authority REA, Project Manager) and can bring together various functional engineering contributors such as electronic engineers, systems engineers, software engineers, supply chain, mechanical engineers, in order to meet the technical requirements of the project with the allocated budget and schedule utilizing Cost Account Management techniques. I've contributed to projects by considering the entire product life-cycle (development, integration, fielding, maintenance, repair, disposition). Skills include systems engineering, laser system design & testing (YAG, CO2, excimer, infrared diode lasers), optical system design (including space systems), requirements development & verification, trade studies, risk management, optics, opto-mechanics, cryogenics, detectors, and test systems development. Computer skills include MS Project, AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint. I'm certified in FRED optical design software, including scripting, and am trained in Matlab. Some limited experience in CodeV, ProE. I've managed team sizes up to 18 engineers and projects up to $3.5M.
