About Ken Fong

I am all about amplifying the impact of people and organisations using Health, Wellbeing and Wellness as their secret weapon! I lead the Healthy Buildings & Communities work in Arup Melbourne. In this role I help businesses and organisations, particularly in the Property sector leverage achieve better commercial outcomes (faster leasing, higher premiums on saleable assets, stronger organisational engagement, etc) by leveraging the Healthy Buildings Frameworks. Some others may know me as an Acoustics specialist, and I am the Design Lead for Stations and In-Carriage Noise on the Melbourne Metro Project. This is the largest ever public transport infrastructure project the state of Victoria has ever seen. In particular my expertise lies in Human Centred Acoustics, where we are clear about our END - better spaces with better acoustics to give people a better experience! All the technical wizardry we use are merely means to this end. I am also passionate about translating the latest research in Health, Wellbeing and Acoustics into practise, and i am the research champion for Arup Australasia in these fields. I have been involved in some fascinating projects such as the Sound of Alzheimer installations, Sound of Collaboration research and many others relating to the space of experiential design. In my personal life, I am happily married and a father of two young kids. I am also a Wellness coach, where I extend my impact by helping individuals achieve their wellness and weight management goals. I also dabble in the world of Bio Hacking and is certainly an area of growing personal interest.
