About Ken Gann

After a 4 year contract with the Marine Corps,(6 years total) I found myself looking for a job during one of the roughest times in the 1980`s. After multiple applications & resume`s I made contact with the local V.A. Rep. I was given a job with Brockway Glass Company in Freehold, N.J. The opportunity to advance was posted and I moved to the Hot End.(That`s when I became a bottle maker) I took me 5 years to get my journeyman operators card. Most men it takes twice as long, I worked overtime running the off shifts machines for 4 years.(The company had a lot of men retiring next few years) Almost a double everyday. I paid my dues as an apprentice operator and finally became a Journeyman Operator. Then started on my Upkeep card. That was a bigger deal. Upon completion of my requirements for Journeyman Upkeep hrs of on the job it seemed like forever. I finally received my Journeyman Upkeep at the Ball Container Plant in Laurens S.C.
