About Ken Hamaguchi

After receiving an MSIE from a university in Japan, he was engaged in sales in branch business at a Japanese securities firm for two years. He was then transferred abroad (to the Middle East) where he worked as an investment banker “specializing in oil money” for five years. After that, he was in charge of the International Products Development Department of the same firm for two years. He was then headhunted by a U. S. securities firm to establish a Japanese branch and to be involved in product development as Vice President/General Manager of Product Development. Two years later, this securities firm withdrew from the Japanese market as the bubble collapsed. In 2001, he joined Hakuhodo Inc. Since then, he has been involved in international public relations for Japanese private companies, Japan’s national and regional ministries and governmental agencies for 23 years. He also has experiences to work on domestic and international PR/Ad operations for the Prime Minister’s Office (media, web, and events). More recently, he has contributed to the increase in inbound customers through MICE branding in Japan as an account leader of JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization) in Hakuhodo. He also worked as Japan Regional Manager of the Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, the Government of Dubai, leading entire Dubai-branding and public relations in Japan for six years. He retired from Hakuhodo in December 2023 when he reached the age of 60, and was commissioned by the mayor of the town of Ogano, Chichibu County, Saitama Prefecture, to serve as Regional Reinvigorate Advisor beginning in 2024. He continues to work to revitalize all activities that contribute to the town's branding.
