About Ken Johnson

Currently serves as the associate dean and professor of the Dumke College of Health Professions at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Holds a doctorate in health education and has primarily taught in the areas of health care administration and population health. Is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Has some post-doctorate training in leadership, management, and emotional intelligence. Joined the faculty of Weber State University in 1998. Prior to the appointment at Weber State, worked for 15 years in health care, holding positions in hospital and clinic administration and marketing. Represents the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions on the Healthy People Curriculum Task Force, in Washington, D.C, founded by the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research. Was recently appointed to serve on the board of the Association of University Programs in Healthcare Administration (AUPHA). This is an international network of programs, faculty, healthcare professionals and others working to promote the very best healthcare management education. Local to Utah.Serves on the boards of both Community Nursing Services (CNS), a provider of home health, hospice, and other long-term health care; and the James Madison Elementary Health Center, serving the underinsured population of Weber County. Currently chairs the Weber-Morgan Board of Health. Has published a number of articles and presented at a variety of regional, national, and international conferences on topics dealing with organizational behavior, emotional intelligence, employee wellness and retention.
