About Ken Katigbak

Ever since I was a little kid, I knew that I would somehow end up working “in the biz.” This probably stemmed from the fact that my dad was a movie actor in the Philippines and eventually transitioning to producing and directing TV commercials. I remember being on set with him and soaking it all in. I loved the chaos, the many moving parts, the amount of time it took to shoot a 1 second scene and seeing all of it come together in the end. So I pursued this curiosity and went to Film school. Fast forward to present day, I still get goosebumps whenever I see what I’ve created air on TV. That feeling of vulnerability when millions of viewers are tuning in. And then that sense of accomplishment when the show ends excites me. It’s a passion to create stories that makes me feel this way. I am visionary, storyteller and a 20+ year veteran of compelling visual media, with a career spanning several continents including Canada’s premier entertainment brands. My credits include the creation and execution of hit shows for MUCH, MTV and CTV. As a Senior Producer at BellMedia, I was a key contributor and in-charge of packaging several top-rated network events such as Etalk at the Oscars, Love Island Aftersun, WE Day, and the iHeartRadio MMVAs. All of which have garnered multiple recognitions from the Canadian Screen Awards. In my most recent role as Director of Video Content Creation at WE, I am in charge of leading a group of creatives who produce a wide range of content including long form documentaries and marketing brand campaigns. I help shape stories of change about the people and communities the organization partners with in Kenya, Ecuador and India. I Executive Produced the very first in-house broadcast show for the organization in the middle of a pandemic. More importantly, I help create stories of impact. And being able to share that work is what drives me.
