About Ken Lyon

Ken Lyon is a professional geoscientist with over 45 year's experience in the environmental sector. He holds a BA from Princeton, an MSc from Queen’s, and was a founding member of Professional Geoscientists Ontario. His home office is in Peterborough, Ontario. For most of his career, Ken worked as a contaminated sites and hydrogeology consultant in Ontario and Alberta. His related experience includes the assessment and remediation of soil, bedrock and groundwater in sectors including municipal transportation infrastructure, up- to downstream oil and gas, chemical processing, manufacturing, real estate and mergers/acquisitions, nuclear energy, and water resources. Ken's current interests include geo-education and research on environmental geoscience and implications for solving the existential puzzles ahead of us. Ken is Past President of the Kawartha Rock and Fossil Club and has taught Trent University's second-year course on environmental geology for the past four years.
