About Ken MacKinnon
I am an educational leader with an interest in research which explores issues of equity, identity and anti-oppressive leadership in education. I want to engage in this process of unlearning or “unleading” alongside educators. The pandemic has troubled and tested our education systems, but it has also provided an opening to re-imagine them. We have an opportunity to engage leadership practices which can offer new and innovative approaches in response to socio-political realities within our local communities, regions, country, and global contexts. The pandemic has revealed the inequities in our systems, bringing to light how many children are being underserved in our systems. The time has come to redefine and be responsive, creating spaces for new learning, advocacy, and activism among both formal and informal leaders in education.
