About Ken MacKinnon
Ken is CEO and Co-Founding Partner of MKB (MacKinnon, Bennett & Co.), a leading Canadian investor in the energy transition and climate tech sectors. He is a current and past director of several private and public companies and educational boards in both Canada and the U.S. Ken has had a varied and entrepreneurial career in private equity, investment banking and international shipping industries. Formerly a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch & Co, he was head of technology investment banking in Canada for several years. He was also a Managing Partner with Miralta Capital, a private equity management firm. Ken began his career in investment banking with McLeod Young Weir and served as CFO of a publicly traded merchant bank. Earlier in his career, Ken worked for a major ship owner in London, England and as a shipbroker in Paris, France. Ken is a Dobson Fellow at the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies at McGill University and is an Institute of Corporate Directors certified director. He has a B.A. from McGill and an MBA from the Ivy Business School.
