About Ken McNab

I have an extensive experience of Scottish newspapers in varied and challenging positions, including a number of managerial roles. These include mentoring younger journalists to fulfil their potential and help them to fully engage with their aspirations as well as always trying to ensure that my reach exceeds my grasp (or what is a heaven for). I enjoy working in a collaborative environment to produce the best work I can on any given project. I enjoy work and Ihaven't yet fallen out of love with newspaper journalism despite the slings and arrows of (some) outrageous proprietors. I have been fortunate to have had a book published called The Beatles in Scotland (Birlinn Polygon) which I like to think, judging by the positive reaction and good reviews it gaenered, was well received. My second book, an autobiography of former Celtic football player Dixie Deans called There's Only One Dixie Deans (Birlinn) is due out in the middle of September 2011. I am currently researching plans for a third publishing project before the dark winter nights drive me mad. Specialties: My specialities, I hope, focus mainly on my love of words and my ability to turn my hand to design projects in any bespoke areas, from company leaflets to magazine layouts. I am also a passionate music fan and lover of all things sport. Star Trek also figures in there somewhere for anyone who likes to set their phasers on stun.
