About Ken Millman

Ken Millman is from Montréal (1959), has a BA (Mass Communication & Law) from Carleton University in Ottawa, and resides in Alburgh, VT and Montréal. He worked as a copywriter and creative director for marketing firms and ad agencies (1981-1997) in Ottawa, San Francisco, Reno, Las Vegas and Burlington before founding Spike Advertising in 1998. With Spike, Ken made “pigs fly” for Northfield Savings Bank, positioned lawyers as “likable” for Langrock Sperry & Wool, and introduced the world to an “apple Pie-Chi” practitioner for the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing. More recently, Ken focused on helping clients articulate and amplify messaging promoting public good, safety, and well-being, including the Vermont Highway Safety Alliance, Advance Vermont, and the Vermont Department of Health (KnowOD). In 2022, Ken transitioned ownership of Spike Advertising to Emiliano Void (founder and CEO of nuwave Equity Corporation) via a donation/mentoring model. As Marketing of Counsel for nuwave Agency (nwA), Ken oversees work performed for the State of Vermont under the Agency’s Master Marketing Contract, and provides ad hoc strategic and creative direction in-house and for select clients. Ken also works for select clients in a freelance capacity, via Ken2Go, LLC.
