About Ken Newman
Originally coming from a background in Natural Resources, I first focused on Forestry, and then moved to Statistics by age 25. Since then I have over 30 years experience working as a statistician in private industry, NGOs, government agencies, and academia. My primary focus in statistics has been on ecological and environmental statistics with emphasis on the use of state-space models for ecological time series data. My teaching experience includes Bayesian Theory and Data Analysis, Sampling Methods, Ecological Modelling, Engineering and Business Statistics, Regression Analysis, and Computer Intensive Methods.
