Researching lithium-ion batteries is both challenging and rewarding, especially when considering their impact on the automotive and electronics industries. Continued research and development is necessary to enhance battery reliability in harsh environments and extend their life-cycles in long-term applications. I have studied many Li-ion battery materials including LiCoO2, LiNiMnCo (NMC), LiMnO, and LiNiCoAlO (NCA) cathodes, and both graphite and silicon anodes. Other efforts were placed on engineering thin-film coating layers (AlPO4, AlOF, AlF3) to protect the electrode materials and internal components from degradation and to enhance the life of the battery. I thoroughly enjoy researching Li-ion batteries and look forward to impacting this rewarding field.
