Kenneth M. Simon is currently the President of Beachplace Association, Inc. Beachplace is a condominium complex on 31 acres along the Gulf of Mexico at the south end of Longboat Key in Sarasota County Florida. It consists of 11 residential buildings, 336 units, and many amenities. He was a member of the Energy Regulatory & Markets and Project Finance Practices. Mr. Simon has broad-based regulatory experience, having served as lead counsel in regulatory proceedings for some of the largest global companies, argued appeals before federal courts of appeal and state supreme courts, structured multi-billion dollar transactions to comply with regulatory requirements, and drafted laws and regulations that are in effect today in the United States and other countries. He has also served as an interviewer of administrative law judge candidates for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Ken’s practice centered primarily in the energy field, although he also has experience with regulation and congressional or administrative investigations in relation to employment, housing, government contacts, communications, foreign investment, and professional licensing. Ken has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America each year since 2007 until he retired in 2018. In 2014, BTI Consulting named him as a “Client Service All-Star,” recognition is given to attorneys who “leverage market changes to stand out with corporate counsel and deliver superior client service.” He has also been recognized as a top lawyer by numerous publications, including The Legal 500 US, Chambers Global, Super Lawyers, Euromoney, and Legal Times, which previously named Mr. Simon as the Leading Lawyer in Energy in Washington D.C.
