About Ken Tajima

As a seasoned film production accountant and the founder of Budget Control Inc, I bring extensive expertise and leadership to the industry. Since establishing the company in 2013, I have overseen the financial aspects of over 50 films, both domestically and internationally, propelling Budget Control Inc. to prominence in Japan's production accounting landscape. Our collaborations span industry giants such as Cine Bazar, Toho Studios, and Warner Bros. Japan, as well as major streaming platforms like Amazon and Netflix. I am particularly proud of contributing to high-profile projects including "Plan 75"(Cannes nominated) and "Mountain Woman." My technical expertise encompasses applying for political subsidy incentives, establishing Special Purpose Companies (SPCs), and managing significant budgets, including a 5 billion yen budget for "Tokyo Vice"(max). In addition to my role at Budget Control Inc, I serve as an external director for Funtech, overseeing 80% of production insurance operations in Japan. My commitment to the industry expanded further with the 2023 launch of Tokyo Rock Studios, dedicated to advancing the overseas expansion of Japanese intellectual properties, fostering international co-productions, and attracting foreign film shoots. I actively collaborate with key figures such as the Tokyo Vice location team and work closely with government bodies and film commissions to realize these goals.
