About Kendall Ackerman

I am an Industrial/Organizational Psychology practitioner leading the Talent Management function at Cinemark. As Manager of Talent Management, I develop and execute our organization’s efforts in Performance Management, Employee Engagement, and Career Development. My role involves overseeing goal setting, quarterly check-ins, and year-end reviews to ensure our team members are aligned with our strategic objectives. I am focused on fostering a positive work environment through regular employee feedback surveys and actionable plans based on the results. In addition, I focus on Career Development by leveraging our core competencies to develop individual development plans, fostering an environment for open career conversations, and providing coaching and overall support to our employees to help them achieve their professional goals and drive their career growth within the organization.In addition to my Talent Management responsibilities, I serve as the HR Business Partner for our Food & Beverage department, where I act as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees in a variety of HR-related areas. Throughout my career, I have been thoroughly immersed into training, coaching, and selecting employees at multiple levels and in a variety of industries. I have been exposed to culture and engagement work on a large scale, and have performed organizational analyses, gathered stakeholder opinions, and developed strategic plans to aid organizations in better achieving their goals.I graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University in 2016 (whoop!) with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. I earned my MS and completed PhD coursework in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at the University of Texas at Arlington. The primary focus of my graduate studies was in gender differences in leadership and organizational culture. Outside of my working and academic careers, I am also an active member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and its local affiliate, DAIOP.
