About Kendall Grady

Violinist Kendall Grady hails from Swansboro NC with strong Lithuanian roots. She has degrees in Violin Performance from the UNC School of the Arts and U of Miami Frost School of Music Henry Mancini Institute. Passionate about music for social change, she attained a Graduate Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship, Cultural Agency, Community Development, and Teaching Artistry from the Global Leaders Program cohort. During the GLP, she developed a social-service arts project for UNESCO "Creative City" Frutillar, Chile with the municipal government, and developed a relationship with the Rapa Nui "Toki" Music School on Easter Island. For Toki she created a financial a program restructuring proposal with non-culturally appropriative crowdfunding campaign, which they use today. Her article "Toki: A Living Legacy" has been published in the World Ensemble Magazine and she was interviewed for Score Magazine's “Impact and Purpose in Most Isolated Inhabited Place on Earth." Kendall believes in a balanced approach of pedagogy, performance, and philanthropy. Performing internationally as a resident artist, soloist, and principal for Hollywood Bowl, Broadway, and NYC Ballet conductors, she has recorded with PBS, Latin GRAMMYs, and SUNDANCE Films recordings. She has served as a teaching assistant, lecturer, orchestral manager, audition and competition committee member, and taught lessons and ensembles at the German Euro Music Festival and Frost Preparatory Program. She enjoys combining art mediums centered around nature or literature, which has resulted in the creation of the Violin, Voice, and Piano trio La Passeggiatta. Kendall has commissioned works involving acoustic installation with string quartet that brings awareness to mental health challenges, and has experience in producing performances, such as the ballet opening for the International Women’s Forum World Conference. An enthusiastic traveler who is aiming to globally demonstrate the applicability of classical violin in modern life, she created Holistic Music Pedagogy™, and has presented professional development workshops to the Pluri-national Conservatory of Music in Bolivia, the “Harmonia'' Orquestrando (Harmony Youth Orchestra) in Mexico, Guatemala’s National Organization of El Sistema Programs, the Swedish Gothenburg Symphony community.
