About Kendra Isable

I am a quantitative and qualitative researcher pursuing a PhD in the department of Anthropology at UNR. As an interdisciplinary researcher, I study population resilience to traumatic events by analyzing the presence of fractures and the healing progress in human skeletal remains. With my four-field Anthropological background, I am seeking to understand how childhood stressors impact the presence and the healing process of skeletal fractures and how social and environmental components are impacting these rates. As a self-taught python learner, I employ python as a methodological approach for data analysis. I also seek to apply my skills in a more technical domain, engaging in user research that would allow me to support the development of goods and services by connecting real-world users with products to better understand their needs. I also can employ my skills in the science policy domain, where I aim to apply my research methodologies, as well as my interest in public health to better understand social determinants of health which can help with policy development. My skills in Anthropology, training, consulting, and public speaking allow me to engage in social scientific research that can be applied to various employment domains.
