About Kendra Richardson

Dr. Richardson is a board certified Sleep Medicine and Family Medicine Physician. She has a passion for patient care and advocacy. Her passion for medicine developed at the early age of five when she witness numerous health care providers taking care of her father. She has a strong sense of community engagement. It is her personal goal to treat the entire patient- mind, body, and soul. She is dedicated to diagnosing and treating sleep disorders while educating patients on the importance of sleep health. After several years in primary care, she witnessed firsthand how sleep difficulties significantly impacted her patients’ overall health and contributed to chronic conditions. This experience led her to specialize in sleep medicine, where she now focuses on improving sleep quality to enhance her patients’ well-being. Dr. Richardson also has a passion for mental health awareness especially in health care providers. Many individuals feel health care providers are immune to certain illness especially mental health. With mental health having such a negative stigma few health care providers neglect the need to seek help for the fear of being shamed or viewed as less than equal. Dr. Richardson's goal is to create a platform and advocacy for mental health awareness not only for her patients but for health care providers in order to better themselves and therefore provide better care for our community. Dr. Richardson earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College, completed her residency at the Atrium Health Family Medicine Residency program, and pursued a fellowship in sleep medicine at Emory University.
