About Kendred Charles

As a Social Worker, I strive to help communities access the care they deserve on their terms to live their most liberated lives.I’ve worked with non-profits since 2018 in roles ranging from peer support to community programming and project coordination. My best skills lie in education, outreach, and advocacy. I especially love working with youth and have extensive experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ and racialized communities in particular. I value anti-oppressive practice and strive to continuously enhance my skills through professional development—I have training in mental health crisis response, trauma-informed practice, and harm reduction, to name a few.In addition to my professional experiences, my work within community organizing grounds my values and practice. Since 2015, I’ve worked with community collectives and coalitions to organize for climate justice, abolition, consent education, and more. I’m especially passionate about anti-carceral community care work and peer support.Above all, I live my life by the love ethic (word to bell hooks).
