About Kenie Siebert

I am an active and enthusiastic teacher, coach, and instructor. I have a wide range of experience of working with individuals of various age and ability level. I strive for a challenge which began when I started student teaching. I chose and was accepted to teach in the Pittsburgh Public School District and in Mexico City, Mexico. From there I gained experience as a short-term substitute in the Pittsburgh Public School District which ended with a long-term assignment. The following year I was hired as the Physical Education Teacher at Pressley Ridge Day School Pittsburgh. I worked there with students ages 5-21 with emotional and behavioral disorders for 3 years. Upon acceptance into the Adapted Physical Activity Master's Program at Slippery Rock University I regretfully resigned from Pressley Ridge. I received a full scholarship that placed me in a fall cohort for a 1 year program. While commuting to Slippery Rock from Pittsburgh I remained active at Pressley Ridge working part time for the Autism Program. After graduation I returned to Pressley Ridge as the Adapted Physical Education teacher and also worked as an Instructional Aid in a classroom setting. I chose to further my career and broaden my experience by taking a position working for PA Cyber and teaching for Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. I wrote an Adapted Physical Education Curriculum for Lincoln Learning Solutions. I am currently working as a Health and Physical Education Teacher for Manchester Academic Charter School. I teach students in grades K-8. My curriculum focuses on skill development, gross motor development, manipulative skills, and overall health/wellness and fitness. Beyond my passion for teaching I work as a trainer/fitness instructor. I work closely with clients to create sessions and plans that will allow them to achieve their health and wellness goals.
