About Kenisha Brown

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Houston, TX. I am passionate about helping young adults learn how to regulate emotions, increase value based behaviors, and achieve a greater sense of self expression to live more authentically. I offer individual therapy for young adults who are experiencing maladaptive behavior or negative thoughts and feelings that interfere with attaining a quality of life that is worthwhile. I help individuals outline repeating patterns learned previously that no longer support them and their relationships presently. I am also passionate about guiding couples on how to restore emotional safety in their relationship by increasing respectful communication and caring exchanges in their partnership. I offer couples therapy for those who are having difficulties with self assertion and effective communication, experiencing feelings of insecurity, or experiencing disconnection in their relationship. The majority of my practice focuses on how to understand the impact of your relational history, maintain clear boundaries, and implement calming skills to manage strong emotional reactions. I work from a strength based and compassion focused approach supporting individuals as they grow in self acceptance and control of their outcomes.
