About Kenneth Bechtel

Finance and accounting are my passion. I love working with numbers and spreadsheets. I recently worked with a non-profit organization developing budgets, performing weekly analysis and forecasting trends. Other responsibilities included AP, AR and reconciliation of accounts. Grant writing was another responsibility as well as adhering to reporting requirements for grants that were awarded. Many of my grant proposals were awarded grants. I was a member of the finance committee for the organization and worked with corporate leaders and board members to ensure financial compliance. I also worked with our team to ensure continued funding from government agencies and compliance with agency regulations.Finance, Accounting, Payroll, Human Resources and Operations were my responsibilities working with a small business in San Diego, California over the past four years. I was fortunate to work for a company that allowed me to utilize my best skill sets; working with numbers, and working with people to make them successful. In addition to my finance and accounting responsibilities, I prepared and submitted a bi-weekly payroll, I performed initial employee set-up, recorded and tracked employee garnishments and monitored employee paid time off and sick leave. I assisted in developing a Human Resources Policies and Procedures handbook for employees and oversaw the new employee on-boarding and employee off-boarding processes, as well as handled employee inquiries.After the owner of the small business decided to discontinue operations, I took advantage of the break and did some traveling. For 6 months I had the opportunity to travel around the world beginning in Europe then Australia and ending in Asia. This fueled my other passion of learning about different cultures and their histories. I am now back and ready to work for a company where I can provide long-term service utilizing my well-rounded background.
