Update 10/2023 Friends and colleagues, a bit of advice is welcome. I have been in retirement for 8 years and it would seem like I am months away from being forced out of retirement. All because my disability payments were over paid and starting this new year 2024 I will be losing 30% of my overall income, this is combined with my Veteran pension. Here's the worst part, if I return to work the more I make, the more it drives down my disability payments or possibility lose it all-in-all. Same holds true for my VA pension. I'm looking for advice, as to what I could possibly start taking at UTEP, I'm possibly going to return to college and take some coding classes, I'm self-taught in different areas of android and rooting devices but its not the same thing because it is just researching and copying files and building already written code into a program.(Open Source Software) Some would say it is equivalent to copy/paste and I agree. I actually need to learn it. I can fix, reinstall software, or root devices and upgrade them but not actually write it. My question is to those who read this and totally understand what I am needing. I am looking for what code is best to learn, in order to train myself in that which applies best for P.O.S. systems. The touch screen systems cash registers, credit card readers, and print out systems for orders to a kitchen or warehouse for example. I am unable to return to chasing and arresting teenagers in high school, they're too fast, and I can't handle the same physical condition I once did. I plan on traveling and living on my knowledge as a consultant for these systems, my life is changing and the retirement income is about to go below my already strict budget, rendering me out of retirement unwantedly. Since I am not physically able for labor I'm looking to re-educate myself. Funny, I might be graduating from college same time as my kid does. Currently supplementing my income by doing programming and repairs on PCs, laptops, Gaming consoles, Android devices and other electronic devices. I can and will be happy to assist you with picking and building your home theater system. From something simple to a high end 4K TV/Projector system.
