Background

About Kenneth Lott

As a law enforcement professional, I have been privileged enough to serve in a wide variety of roles. Over the course of two decades I have served in a patrol and patrol supervisor capacity, a special weapons and tactics capacity, and as a use of force instructor. I’ve also worked as a School Resource Officer, a property and evidence manager, a department liaison to the Bay Area Joint Terrorist Task Force, and I hold certifications from such organizations as California P.O.S.T, Washington CJTC, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Force Science Institute.Over the course of my career I’ve been fortunate to have trained with some of this nation’s top sworn, civilian, and military instructors. I am currently assigned as the Range Officer for BPD and I also serve as the NW regional use of force/CDT lead instructor for the Washington state Criminal Justice Training Commission. In closing I’ll add that my background in tactics and combatives only serve as part of what makes me a complete use of force specialist. It is the continued pursuit of understanding human dynamics under stress, staying abreast to changing legislation and best practices, and taking on more of an educator role within this profession that have allowed me to stay relevant. I have come to realize that those opportunities I’ve taken early in my career have strategically placed me in a unique position where I can pay forward what I have learned, while also continuing to learn and improve upon my own experiences and expertise.
