About Kenneth Markert

I'm an attorney in the Appeals and Special Litigation Bureau at the Queens District Attorney's Office in New York, NY. I'm responsible for post-conviction litigation of all types, from direct criminal appeals to immigration-related repleaders. Additionally, I respond to freedom-of-information requests filed with our Office. My commitment to public service began at the Texas Department of Transportation, where I interned while in undergrad, and continued during my time at law school, where I clerked for the summer at the Texas Attorney General's Office and the Texas Education Agency. While at UT Law, I volunteered with the Mithoff Pro Bono Program, including at the Actual Innocence Clinic, the Pro Se Asylum Clinic, the Afghanistan Asylum Pro Se Clinic, the Title IX Advisor Program, and the Texas Law Gender Affirmation Clinic. I earned my JD at The University of Texas School of Law, where I was a Staff Editor on the Journal of Law and Technology at Texas, and earned my BA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a major in political science and a minor in philosophy.
