About Kenneth Miller

Heyo, I’m an educator turned administrator who loves problem solving, learning new things, and working in community. With a background in History and a brief stint as a K-4 educator, I now serve as the Office Administrator for UMSL’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance. My day-to‑day includes project coordination, a never ending tide of emails, and leading the charge on UMSL’s digital accessibility efforts so every student, employee, and community member can fully engage with our campus tools and websites.If I had to boil down my biggest talent for sale, I’d say it’s my adaptability. Ask me within any given year and I could rattle off a list of new skills I’ve gained and plenty of mistakes I’ve learned from. If there’s something to be done that I don’t know how to do I will step up to observe, learn, and grow. If you’re working with me on a project the one thing you can be sure of is that I will be asking questions so that my understanding is clear and my results reflect the effort I put in. Another big thing to know about me is that I absolutely adore my city and I’m always looking for more ways to be involved. I’m proud to have been a Fall 2024 FOCUS St. Louis Emerging Leader and to currently sit on the Opera Theatre of St. Louis’ (OTSL) Young Friends Steering Committee, where I help connect more people with the amazing work that OTSL does.Past roles still shape how I work. As Lead Specials Teacher and Librarian at KIPP Victory Academy, I helped grow a library from the ground up and sparked a love of reading in K‑4 students. During my undergrad days at UMSL’s Office of Student Involvement, I managed an $80 K budget for 150+ student organizations and was proud to be named 2022 Student Employee of the Year.I’m fueled by curiosity, community, and most plainly good times. I don’t care to keep my work and personal life walled off from eachother, mainly because that sounds mentally exhausting. For better or worse I strive to be my most authentic self in any room I walk into, and to continue to grow and help others while doing it. Happy to connect!
