About Kenneth Moser

My work has included creation of algorithms for visual tracking, image processing, diminished reality, and high-fidelity real-time rendering in VR, AR, and web visualizations for e-commerce. My doctoral research in Computer Science focused on Augmented and Virtual Reality, with special focus in applications for Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Displays, such as Google Glass and Microsoft HoloLens. My dissertation focused on the problems, and solutions, to calibrating transparent displays. Calibration is of particular importance to OST HMDs since the exact location of the user's eye within the display is not known at run time. Solving this problem with a robust reliable mechanism would significantly advance the availability and accessibility of AR head worn displays in both the consumer and industrial markets.I have approximately two and half years of teaching experience at the university level, with multiple successful research collaborations with both domestic and foreign institutions. I have spent two summers, 2014 and 2015, conducting projects at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in Nara Japan, under the supervision of Christian Sandor, a leading researcher in the field of Augmented Reality. I also completed a summer internship at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington D.C. working under Dr. Mark Livingston.My research interests have also included natural user interfaces and gesture controls, such as that provided by the Leap Motion controller, as well as high performance graphics processing for VR and computer vision application in AR.
